Welcome to my website! I am a fine art photographer based in Sussex, England.

My work falls into two broad categories: street work — which encompasses street portraiture and the built environment — and high resolution close-up ‘portraiture’ of plants.

I am fascinated by the inconceivable – literally, our human minds cannot grasp it! – complexity and diversity of living things, whether they be 'individual' organisms, or 'superorganisms' such as ecosystems, including the urban environment.

In fact, all living things are both uniquely themselves, and consist of many other life forms – from the mature oak tree which encompasses 400+ varieties of life, to bacteria which contain mitochondria with their own DNA and evolutionary history. And it seems that the longer we live, the more gloriously complex we become — simultaneously more uniquely ourselves, and intricately entangled multiplicities, both biologically and socially.

As you can see from the images I make, I'm a great fan of the extraordinary beauty 'hidden in plain sight' everywhere.

My long-term projects include a four-volume photographic memoir, and a book exploring commonalities in all life forms as they progress through the processes of ripening, realisation, and decay.

Please browse at will. Everything on the site is available as a print — I am in the process of building a “Shop” page for the site, but meanwhile please email via the “Contact” page, or by clicking on the “Mail” icon in the top right of each page.
